Declawing Cats in the United States
New York State is set to become the first large jurisdiction in the United States to make declawing illegal. Any veterinarian who performs the procedure for a non-medical reason would be subject to a $1000 fine. Declawing is illegal in may countries and some Canadian Provinces.
