The American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) House of Delegates (HOD) met on January 11, 2020. The HOD voted to strengthen and streamline the association’s position on declawing. Click here to see the new position statement

Alternatives to Declawing

Scratching is normal behavior for cats. As cat-lovers, we need to provide them with the ability to do so.

We are here you provide your cat with the ability to scratch. Nail trimming is an important part of this and early life training can make this easier. There are new pheromones that are useful. Here is a link to alternatives to declawing.
