AAHA Accreditation

Did you know that we are an AAHA accredited practice?  Ever heard of AAHA?  Let me take a few moments to explain the importance of AAHA and what it means for both you and your furry friends.

AAHA stands for the American Animal Hospital Association.  This organization was established in 1933 by leaders in the veterinary industry to promote high quality standards for the growing sector of companion animal veterinarians.  In the 1960’s and 1970’s the organization grew in membership and began normalizing policies and procedures throughout the industry and formed the basis of the standards we see today.  It is the only organization that provides accreditation status to veterinary hospitals in North America.  To find accredited hospitals in your area click here

Unlike human hospitals, veterinary hospitals are not required to be accredited.  Those that voluntarily choose to be accredited are evaluated by AAHA on over 900 quality standards including patient care, diagnostic imaging, laboratory, pain management, pharmacy, safety, surgery, client service, anesthesia, contagious disease, continuing education, dentistry, examination facilities, medical records, leadership and emergency/urgent care.  In order to maintain this accredited status, hospitals must undergo an on-site evaluation every three years to ensure compliance with ever evolving standards.

What does this mean for you?  It means that we voluntarily choose to be held up to the highest industry standards.  It means we are passionate abut the care we provide to our patients and clients, and it is our top priority.  After all, our furry friends deserve nothing less!

If you have any questions about AAHA, we’d love the chance to speak with you!
